'Softaculous' installs. While not approved by Moodle HQ/Community members, etc. if it works for you and what you do ... why not?
Just one word of caution if using Softac ... upgrades have been known to fail ... especially if attempting 'hyperjumps' ... like from 2.8 to 3.7.. but in your case, new Moodle by classroomYYYY and restoring backups from old moodle ... if that works ... why not?
Just don't un-install the old moodle until the new classroomYYYY is up and fully operational.
Problem solved then right?
Another word ... if a Softac installed moodle has issues, then first point of contact for problem resolution is Orange ... then Softac ... and last, Moodle Community forums.
