I have what I hope is an easy questions. I am an fairlly new admin on our 2.3 server. A teacher sent me a course backup file from another server, she wants me to use it to create a new course for her.
Should I create a course and then from within that course restore from the bacup file? Is the best way to do this to upload the file to my private files area and access it from there? I have not been able to find step by step directions on how to do this in moodle docs. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
PS: this is an old 1.8 backup zipped file that I am attempting to restore on a 2.3 moodle server. I've been told that it may not work but I can give it a try. Is there any chance restoring such an old backup would create problems beyond the course I am trying to restore?
