Automated Asynchronous backup - e-mail notification/summary

von Eva Koperdakova.

Yes, You're right, smaller sites have different settings in ...fpm/php.ini and ...mpm_event.conf but all use mpm event and php fpm, just to have them as alike as possible.

Well, I had similar multimedia course, but managed with the teacher, she'll move it to teams and sharepoint. My biggest course backup file is now 8.8 GB (Just before yesterday I was preparing "shame list" for teachers, to let them know they should do Reset. Have not displayed yet, I'am gonna be bad mad administrator defending every byte 😁). From time to time I search through backups - any course bigger than 1G is suspicious to me. Either contain video files (they should link them, they have university hosting available for video files). Or there are many assignment files even from students from previous years! So I am sorting them out, from GB ones to 950MB. Sometimes I do not catch them before new term.

I have tested asynchronous single course backup, the notification of completion has been sent and I have received it. Found the action in cron log:
Scheduled task complete: Správa o automatizovanom zálohovaní (core\task\automated_backup_report_task)
Ran 0 adhoc tasks found at Wed, 13 Aug 2025 14:46:01 +0200
(My bad, I should have checked cron logs. I keep them only 3 days, yesterday it was there, today they gone.)
But the small site had scheduled automated asynchronous backup for all courses (hidden, not visited, visited) yesterday, the notification I have posted earlier (received at18:51). In cron log there is:
Execute scheduled task: Správa o automatizovanom zálohovaní (core\task\automated_backup_report_task)
... started 18:50:01. Current memory use 29.0 MB.
... used 34 dbqueries
... used 0.0031681060791016 seconds
Scheduled task complete: Správa o automatizovanom zálohovaní (core\task\automated_backup_report_task)
Execute adhoc task: core\task\course_backup_task
Adhoc task id: 2009
---
Still I do have backups. It is good. I am only missing notification.

I'll make two experiments, it will take two weekends.
1. Disable asynchronous backup. Check mail, check cron log.
2. Enable asynchronous backup. Check mail, check cron log.
