I will try to install moodle 4.1 and try to backup/restore from 3.7 to 4.1 and see what will happen
That seems a good thing to try. Please let us know how you get on.
If it doesn't work, you could maybe upgrade your 3.7.2 site to 3.9 and then create a backup to restore in 4.1 (based on the documentation Upgrading to 4.1 which says 'You can only upgrade to Moodle 4.1 from Moodle 3.9 or later.').
