Wait ! I was wrong about procedure TWO. There is no Moodle updater/installer. All you get when you click Download is a Zip file without any instructions.
So what is done with this Zip file? Is it FTP'd to the new, empty classroom folder and expanded in the web server? Then what happens. Try to run the Moodle and THEN get some interactive step-by-step help? Does this step include naming the files from the previous (running) Moodle that are to be copied to the new Moodle folder.
