"hasn't run for 2 years and I just turned it on"
So in looking at the next run date for the backup of any course would think that date has already passed.
Since it has been off for 2 years, It might have been best to:
1) truncate all tables related to the tracking of automated backups,
2) manually erase all files/folders in moodledata/temp/backup/
3) change the location of backups to go to a designated directory where one can see them by humanly recognizable names.
Then turn it on. Would have been starting with a clean slate then ... like automated backups was run for the very first time.
unfinished ... there are files/folders in moodledata/temp/backup/ ... incomplete attempts at backups which I don't believe moodle code will see, figure out where it left off, and pick up at that point - especially considering it was 2 years ago.
As far as asking the maker of Moosh to make it a 'regular plugin', you certainly can. Creators EMail address is visible on the moosh site. Good luck with that.
