Hi,
Another solution would be to backup every courses with logs, apart for the course 1 (front page). That would allow people wanting to keep logs for a very long time to do so, without beeing annoyed with backups.
Some modification of the code would be necessary for that.
Or, as i said previously, one could completly disable backup for the front page.
