That last item was a question for you ... not a step ... help decide how long to keep logs? Appears no one has ever asked you to gen a report dealing with activity 2 years ago, etc., sooooooo ....
Well, resetting for how long to keep logs (now 365) to something lower should reduce the size that table on the next run of the cron/task. But one day? You might want to set that to something 'sane' ... but useful (should you need to look at those logs for some reason) ... length of a semester? ... or whatever your typical course length might be? Can't make that call for ya.
