Re: Automated backup pending

Hi Emma

I have ascertained that the errors are not related to the backup issues, they are however odd as I have a 300 second max-execution times out in my PHP. But that's is another story

I have now realized that when i run the automated back ups. Changing the execution time say for 15 minutes ahead, it starts to work but only gets as far as the first unfinished course backup.  Now in the wiki it states that any unfinished course backups will be completed on the next run

It actually states Unfinished - The backup was not finished. This might have happened because the job to execute backups ran out of time or resources (e.g., the cron running the backups ran out of time before finishing all the courses waiting). The unfinished jobs should be completed when the next scheduled backups are repeated.

But in my instance the backups stop getting created. I know this as I can watch them being created in the moodle-data/temp/cache folder.  The last one I get each time I re-run the back-ups exactly matches the timestamps of the last unfinished course backup in Moodles backup report

Odd

Moodle suggest: "This might have happened because the job to execute backups ran out of time or resources (e.g., the cron running the backups ran out of time before finishing all the courses waiting)."

but I dont know what this means as the time it takes to do say 50 courses backups is far longer than any PHP timeout setting.

Cheers
