Dear All
I've tried and failed to find exactly the issue I'm having and it seems the more I try to fix it myself, the worse it gets, so I'm going to start a new thread.
In July we upgraded a large production site (5k users and about 300 courses) from 1.9 to 2.3 (with an interim upgrade to 2.1 in between). We are running Windows on a virtual machine. We have all the correct versions of PHP and MySQL installed.
There are a few teething problems which I'm working my way through, but the one that I just can't seem to fix is the restoring of files.
I'm trying to restore a course that has been backed up in this version. Initially I had the error "cannot read from database" after going through all the usual steps. I checked on the forums and there were a few forum posts mentioning increasing the "max_packet_allowance". So this morning our IT guy changed this for me and restarted the services. Since then, instead of getting the error, I get an "Oops! This link appears to be broken."
Sometimes, if I refresh on that page I will then get an error saying that there's a problem that needs to be fixed by a programmer.
When in debug mode, I've been getting eaccelerator cache messages and I've now disabled this, but I'm still getting the broken link.
Any ideas from anyone about any of this would be simply marvellous. I've had just about enough of this now
Thanks in anticipation
Karen
