Backing up from one Moodle, restoring to another in 2.3.1

Hi there,

I've run into a problem and am really hoping that somebody here can help.

I have two installations of moodle:

M1: buggy but functional 2.3.1 with all my courses on them. I have performed backups of my courses here.

M2: clean but empty moodle 2.3.1 in a different directory. I want to restore backups from M1 into here.

1. I assumed that it would be a simple matter of finding the mdz files that were created in the backup process of M1 and then putting them where the restore process of M2 would notice them. However, I could not find the mdz files that were created! Am I going about this the right way? if 'yes' where are the mdz files stored?

2. Is there another way of going about this?

Look forward to any help on this subject, thanks so much in advance.

David
