I'm trying to restore a couple of fairly big Moodle MBZ archives.
OK. I'm understating the facts. One of the courses I'm attempting to restore is BIG and the other is BLOODY HUGE!
I'm sure there are multiple levels of problems being caused by the sheer size of these two MBZ files.
The first problem stops the restore process right out of the gate. I turned on debugging and for starters, PHP throws upthis error message:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in G:\MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-23\server\moodle\lib\filestorage\zip_packer.php on line 249
I edited the zip_packer.php file with Dreamweaver and there's no variable there that looks like it can be tweaked ro give the zip process longer to run and finish the job.
I'm guessing the settings in PHP.INI. I don't know it for a fact because I try to stay outta PHP.INI and generally avoid messing around with it's contents.
I'm cautious about doing so because every time I've tried to tweak a PHP.INI file, I've ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the web app after trashing it thoroughly.
If someone already posted all the tricks needed to unpack HUGE moodle backups somewhere in this forum... which seems to have grown to a size roughly equivalent to my backup archives... I'd appreciate someone pointing me to where that is.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
