Very interesting observation. I can not set backup more frequent, as I keep 2 last backups and it covers 2 weeks. I have no space for more copies of backups.
The last backup on my moodle was performed on 747 courses (of about 2000) and yes the last finished was the same one, quite big in size about 4GB.
Backup is set to 1:00 am, but the first 12backups have time 1:50 and the last one is written 5:16. However it is not the biggest one. It is fourth. The biggest one finished 3:43.
This 4GB last one is not even in use this term, so I have promise to having it cleaned (Reset) by teacher. So on monday I will see.

What caught my attention is that backups are scheduled 1:00 and start 1:50. I'll investigate.
