Automated Asynchronous backup - e-mail notification/summary

Hi,

we also have the same/similar problem:
in our Moodle (4.5.5+) we have activated automated backup which will be done every night. We have three Moodle instances (2 smaller ones, 1 large one). On the smaller servers approximately 10 - 20 courses are backed up daily. On the large server approximately 100 - 400 courses are backed up daily. On the smaller servers we always get an email (status of automated backup), but on the larger one we only SOMETIMES get an email. This is since we have updated from Moodle 4.1 to Moodle 4.5 (we also have used automated backup in older Moodle Version like 3.9, 4.1 ...).

We have checked whether the emails were getting stuck on the mail server, but we couldn't find any evidence of this. We also couldn't find any problems in the log files or in /moodledata/temp/backup/

We think that it has something to do with the number and size of the courses and the duration of the backup process. The ad hoc tasks are running longer and the entire backup process sometimes takes several hours - but all ad hoc tasks will be finished and the courses are definitely being backed up. Perhaps this long process is preventing the emails from being sent?

I can't find a bug tracker entry. Maybe this one is similar (https://moodle.atlassian.net/browse/MDL-69615), but this solved and it may only have a little to do with it.
