With the coming of AI and it's improvement, have to wonder if an LMS/CMS whatever you want to call it, is really needed at some point in the future. Profs become learning coaches. Students (learners), at any time, could submit (allow a 'learning coach') to review what they have learned or experienced (supposedly) to determine if credit would be granted for a 'course' ... (meets the criteria for completion). Some of what I describe there is happening now.
Hmmmm ... that kinda sounds like Doctoral Students and the Committee of Profs involved in an individual Dr. candidates pursuit of a Dr. degree!
Until then, ya got what ya got and have to learn work-arounds for desired features.
