No. I haven't had issues with async, but I haven't enabled it on my production sites yet.
Scheduled backups have been an issue - they cause problematic slow responses in Moodle when enabled. So I'm trying to evaluate the "risk" of enabling async backups. So far they seem to be ok on my dev server...
