First off, we rarely deal with Moodle backup/restore. We backup the entire vm as an image. We have a couple of savvy faculty whom have wanted to backup and restore a course recently. One brought a backup from a few years ago that is large from another server and version. One brought a small one.
I was able to restore the small backup from a few years ago through the gui. Its about 100 megabytes.
The large one is 6.8 GB. No dice... see as follows.
When I drag and drop I get an "error connecting to server". Via the file picker, I click the file and upload and it just spins for 12+ hours... I haven't been willing to wait longer.
I've adjust apache2/php.ini files max upload post etc to 9GB and timeouts to 900.
So I thought... maybe I can make a backup of an existing course and test something... I tried to backup a new fairly empty course. I get an error "A required parameter (id) is missing." These course have data in all the required fields as well as Course ID number and description.
I've adjusted the moodledata/temp permissions to 777 temporarily to troubleshoot... same issues.
Any ideas here?
This is running on ubuntu and Moodle 4.0.1. All the environment status say OK.
