Many thanks Ken for clarifying what is happening with the recycle bin. Ok, so seems all related. Unfortunately we have recycle bin set to 4 weeks due to staff leaving in the past and deleting content before they go! So we have have the recycle bin using the backup process to backup what was deleted- that is failing and leaving the backup in temp folder- and it will continue to do this. Managed to get a handle on this by setting 'Clean up temporary data files older than tempdatafoldercleanup' setting to 6 hours (it was 2 days). We have lots of \core_course\task\course_delete_modules failing in task_adhoc table. This was impacting on other ad_hoc tasks being sent processed. I've managed to delay this so all running properly again, but I presume this is also related i.e. it can't delete module for whatever reason?
