Recently performed a course restore in 3.8.4 and the majority of recorded grades were missing from course.

When restoring the course, the option to delete existing content and restore from backup was selected. Has anyone experienced this problem or something similar?
The grade items missing student grades were all assignment activities. The student submissions were still present but it was as if the activity had never been graded.
