Hi Ken!
I can SET other versions, but after I click Server Component, the setting in the drop-down always snaps back to 2.8.1
I find that really confusing and confidence-ruining. Is the list of "OK" lines from the version that was showing when Server Component was clicked and the pop-up display just naturally resets to the current version? If so, why would a programmer do this? Show 2.8.11 in the pop-up and the scores for 3.7 below that?
I would try your install fresh 3.7 and restore my courses but are we not forgetting about the database file-set? Would the 3.7 "installer" create a new (empty) database for itself to use? There is nothing in the documentation about this.
Is this a true statement? "By doing a fresh install of 3.7 (and a 5-course restore) I would wind up with a fresh 3.7 Moodle and a brand new 3.7 database folder that has no memory of the past." If that is true, the Lobotomy Technique might just be worth it.
