I agree .... in your situation you need course backups you can find and download.
Did a little Googling and see you are remotely hosted but really can't determine what tools you have to create a directory outside of Moodle data. Got cPanel? That does have a file browser and you could create that directory using that.
Then in the Moodle set up automated backups using a designated directory which would be the directory created above.
When automated backups makes it's next run all courses would be backed up to that designated directory ... assuming you've never had automated backups turned on before.
If it runs ok, wait a day, use cPanel's file browser and one chould download the backups via that interface.
