I just did this process with 8 courses yesterday. The size of each backup ranged from 59 to 385 Mb. The restore took between 2 and 8 minutes.

With very large courses, our very cool and fast virtual server can take more than 5 hours (I didn't do that restore; I just heard about it). "Very large" for us means 1 Gb. With our old hardware, a small restore took long enough for a cigarette and a cup of coffee.

Do you get the ghost shell of a course when you quit? It says something "course being restored" and there's nothing but empty sections inside.
