Automated backup pending

Hi

I am on a windows, IIS system and our automated course backups seem to be hanging, in the reports section they are returning as "Automated Backups Pending.  Only around 8 have completed

I am getting this error in the PHP logs

[26-May-2015 16:58:13 Europe/London] PHP Fatal error:  Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in E:OURRoot\lib\filestorage\file_storage.php on line 1698

Has this file_storage.php any think to do with automated course backup?
