Import course in 2.6

I am backing up courses in Moodle 2.3 to import to a separate  install of Moodle 2.6.   I use bluehost.

I am limited to a 10 Mb upload from within Moodle. The backup files that I'm trying to import are in the 100 Mb range. In Moodle 1.x I could upload into a course that I had created by going through the backdoor using the file manager on my server with bluehost.   With 2.x I can't find where to place these backup files on the server . Could anyone tell me where to place these files?
