Ran some tests to further clarify Scheduled task ->automated backups AND Course->Backups->Automated backup: schedule
At 9am I set:
Scheduled Task->Automated course backups :10am
Course->Backups->Automated backup:10:15am
Results:
At 9:30am Reports->Backups->new automated backup time not indicated
At 10:10am Reports->Backups->new automated backup time has been updated
At 10:30am no backups have occurred
Updated Scheduled Task->Automated course backups:11am
Backups occurred immediately after 11am
It appears 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups' is required to run once in order to update courses as seen in the reports, to indicate they are scheduled for backing up.
In addition to this 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups' needs to run once after the 'Course->Backups->Automated backup' time, in order to initiate the actual backing up process.
From this I gather 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups' should run once before and after 'Course->Backups->Automated backup'.
for example:
10:00am 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups'
10:05am 'Course->Backups->Automated backup'
10:10am 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups', backups should start then.
Running 'Scheduled Task->Automated course backups' only twice seems like a good way to reduce overhead?
